Working alongside the project team during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, SourceBlue helped maintain schedule and budget performance through proactive coordination, procurement management, and system optimization. The team supported critical HVAC modifications that enabled 100% outside air operation and negative pressure capabilities, enhancing patient safety while ensuring the facility could adapt to evolving healthcare requirements.
SourceBlue supported the development of Hackensack University Medical Center's new 475,000 SF hospital bed tower, expanding the campus with operating rooms, ICU beds, sterile processing departments, and modern patient care spaces. The project enhanced patient care capacity while delivering critical clinical environments designed to support the growing needs of the health system and surrounding community.
In addition to the patient tower, SourceBlue supported the delivery of a four-story, 43,000 SF Central Utility Plant (CUP) providing steam, chilled water, and emergency power to the campus. The facility includes high-pressure steam boilers, 12,000 tons of cooling capacity, and 7,500 kW of emergency generation, replacing existing utility infrastructure and supporting more than 3 million SF of hospital facilities. This investment established a resilient foundation for future campus growth while ensuring long-term operational reliability.
