Maximizing Efficiency Through Modularization
The project at the BMO First Canadian Place Trading Floor included a new penthouse scope- a 6,000 SF factory packaged Generating Station. The powerhouse involves structural and architectural renovations to an existing building podium to accommodate new replacement equipment being brought in such as generators, switchgears, transformers, and cooling units. The generating station consists of a multi section, single- and two-level enclosures.
SourceBlue utilized a prefabricated modular powerhouse solution to minimize disruption within a constrained downtown site. Equipment was fully installed and tested offsite prior to delivery, improving quality while reducing on-site labor, congestion, and risk. Careful module sizing accommodated existing building conditions and enabled 40 modules to be installed in approximately two weeks, supporting an efficient and accelerated field installation.
